20 volunteers
from the Japanese program in Casper used "Net Meeting
(real
time communication using a web camera and audio)," for the first time.
Due
to 15 hours time difference between Wyoming and Japan, they came
to
the
Distant Learning Center at Natrona County High School around 6:30
p.m.
which
was 9:30 a.m. next day in Japan.

"It
was cool to be able to see who you were talking to."
"I
think that it would be more fun next year, because I will know
more about the Japanese language."
"I
was scared when I talked to them, because I was afraid I would
say something stupid."

"That
was the first time I ever spoke with someone in Japan. I think
it was great and I would like to do it again."
"Next
year, I think we should do it more often."
"It
was almost like sitting at a table with them at their house or
mine.
